When Miami got their MLB franchise, they were known as the Florida Marlins. A play on a longtime minor league moniker, it was a good choice for the team. Keeping with the times, their teal and black uniforms left a lasting impression.

The home uniforms, in a white with teal pinstripe, had a classic design. “Marlins” was in a teal with black trim. The front player number was black with white and teal trim. The back of the jersey had the player name arched in black with teal trim and the number in black with white and teal outlines.

They also had an alternate pinstripe vest in the rotation. It had the same layout as the home short sleeve uniforms.

The road gray uniform featured a “Florida” script with a marlin above the “F”. The front script was teal with black and white trim. The front player number, along with the back number and name was black with teal trim.

The team hat consisted of the marlin “F” logo on an all teal, teal with black brim or black hat. It was not long to see the teal get phased out on the lid.
