Ben Zobrist, Chicago Cubs
Four Years, $56 million
While I don’t really like a four-year contract for a 35-year old, it really works for the Chicago Cubs. Zobrist can play multiple positions in the infield, as well as being able to play outfield. The Cubs are loaded with position players and Zobrist will be able to move around to give guys days off or help Joe Maddon work offensive match-ups better. After helping the Kansas City Royals win the World Series in 2015, Zobrist will bring a veteran presence to a young Cubs core, where the sky is the limit. While he brings the intangibles to the dugout, he can also still play at a high level. In 59 games for the Royals last season, he slashed .284/.364/.453.
