Gordon was pursued by many teams this offseason but came back to the only place he has ever called home, Kansas City. The Kansas City Royals had a rather quiet offseason after winning the World Series. The Royals needed an outfielder and were able to re-sign Gordon. For a team needing to continue the momentum they have, Gordon was a must. They also got him on a club friendly deal that is back loaded ($20M/year in 2019-20).
