This is probably a pipe dream, as Renfroe just recently made Triple-A at the end of the year last season., but he is in the running to win the job. Renfroe, the former first round draft pick, has struggled with consistency and lack of contact but the power and athleticism are still there. He will have to have an unbelievable spring to beat out the guys aforementioned, but knowing he is most likely going to be called up at midseason anyway, it’s not that far out to think he might do it. Renfroe could be placed in the middle-down part of the order (5,6) and provide nice power, while also mounting solid defense. He is a person to keep an eye on come spring training.
