After watching baseball highlight after highlight the other night — we’ve all been there, right? — I had to re-share this. This video is amazing in many ways, but I still can’t get over the fact that Jamie Moyer was 49 when he was on the bump here in 2013. Thats 27 — yes, 27 — years older than the man who hit the home run, then-22-year-old Giancarlo Stanton. That’s likely a story for another day but still let that sink in while watching it.
Stanton broke the scoreboard, and that might be the least impressive thing about it, just the cherry on top. A Carlos Zambrano cameo is always entertaining as well, and you can’t go wrong listening to friend of the network Rich Waltz on the call.
It’s an incredible video all the way around. After watching this again and realizing Stanton posted his best HR/AB ratio ever in 2015, I have just one question:
Is it April yet?
