Avila channeled his inner Dombrowski this offseason, bringing Maybin back to the Tigers for practically nothing and bringing in Saltalamacchia on a league minimum deal. Of course, the sexiest name on that list is Justin Upton.
Needing a left fielder and already two weeks intp January, the Tigers inked the 28-year-old to a six year deal, adding depth to an already potent lineup.
With an offense that already featured Miguel Cabrera, Victor Martinez, J.D. Martinez and Ian Kinsler, the Tigers are a team that isn’t hurting for offense. Adding Upton to that lineup just makes opposing pitchers hate to face them even more.
