Kyle Hendricks Breaks Out & The Rotation Shifts
Kyle Hendricks will have a break-out year on the mound and surprise everyone with his performance, and Jon Lester will be more the Jon Lester of old. This is an overall prediction, though, and I will add that Adam Warren will be part of the rotation before September. Hendricks has been growing stronger, and smarter. His performance last year was solid, and a little more control, coupled with his ability to induce ground balls heading into what stacks up as an all-star level infield, will get him into those later innings that have so far eluded him. Lester will play off of Lackey’s presence on the team, and will settle in to his old form. I believe the entire rotation is underrated. I won’t try to predict Jason Hammel‘s performance… if his new conditioning program returns his confidence, and his mechanics smooth out, he’s very, very good. If not, Adam Warren will have his spot by June.
