C.J. Wilson is coming off surgery, while Jered Weaver is coming of the worst season of his career. The Angels rotation has a lot of depth, but the problem is the uncertainy of how they will all perform. Garret Richards and Andrew Heaney are both locks for the rotation. The Angels have to hope Richards can return to 2014 form, and that Heaney can build on a successful 2015 season. Santiago, was an All-Star in the first half of the season, but in the second half it went downhill; his second half ERA was over 5.00. Tropeano, Shoemaker, and Skaggs all have potential as well, but there are still plenty of questions.
The Angels at least need C.J. Wilson and Jered Weaver to be locks in the rotation and be at the very minimum, consistent. It will put a lot of pressure off the other guys, and it will provide a lot of depth for the Angels. Wilson and Weaver also need to revamp their value, as they head into the last year of their contracts.
