Youth is being served at the shortstop position and several new names are making their debuts on fantasy lists and will be there for many seasons to come. While this has been a position of weakness over the past few seasons, that is about to change. For dynasty leagues, this is the position you will want to target to find someone to guide your team into the future.
Please note, you won’t see Jose Reyes on this list because of his looming suspension but if you draft him, you might also want to draft Trevor Story, who should fill in during Reyes’ absence for the Colorado Rockies.
One guy I like outside the top ten is Starlin Castro. He got traded to the New York Yankees this offseason and will be their starting second baseman. But for fantasy purposes he will still be able to play shortstop for your squad. I believe he will have a nice year in Yankee Stadium. He should approach 15 home runs and be around a .260 average. If you miss any of the top ten, Castro would be a good fallback option.
Now, on to the top ten.
