Who Is the Face of Each American League Franchise?

Los Angeles Angels
Mike Trout, CF

Trout is the face of baseball, not just the face of the Angels. He’s everything a league wants in a player — an all-around talent who is also squeaky clean. Trout could stand to show a little more personality off the field, but that’s not really his thing, and it doesn’t have to be. Major League Baseball needs to do a better job marketing him and pushing him as more of a national superstar on the same level of a LeBron James or Steph Curry.

There are any number of statistics or ways to support how historically good Trout has been through his age-23 season. He is one of the greatest players under the age of 25 in league history, just leave it at that. Now, it’s up to the Angels to figure out how to field a contending team around their franchise player. Investing heavily in past-their-prime veterans has left Los Angeles as a fringe contender at best.

Honorable Mention: Albert Pujols
