Seager is as intriguing as they come in fantasy baseball. 20+ home run potential, and hitting number 3 in one of baseball’s best lineups are some of the more obvious perks of selecting him. This paired with the scarcity of offensive shortstops in the game gives him plenty of potential. While you may get carried away by his up-side, there remains a cautionary tale with super prospects like Seager. Buxton proved ineffective last season and other minor league studs have shown it may take a year to break out in the big leagues i.e Xander Bogaerts.
Verdict: Buy with caution. 2016 may be his breakout year, but his bust potential should stop owners from reaching for him.
