Players Who Could Be Traded Before Opening Day

Jonathan Lucroy– Catcher, Milwaukee Brewers

Jonathan Lucroy has been one of the most rumored trade candidates throughout the offseason. With the Brewers looking to rebuild their roster, it’s very possible they decide to trade their 29-year-old backstop.

Even though he is coming off a season in which he only played in 103 games, the thought of adding an All Star caliber catcher definitely has to be enticing for some teams who have playoff aspirations. In six seasons with the Brewers organization, Lucroy has posted a slash line of .282/.340/.430. He started playing a little bit of first base in 2015, and could ultimately see a lot more playing time at the position in the future.

The Texas Rangers are the team to keep an eye on in the Lucroy sweepstakes. Other teams, such as the Houston Astros and the Oakland Athletics, could also show interest.
