The Rays have power

One of the highest priorities the Rays had in the offseason was improving the offense, specifically getting more power into the lineup. After one week it looks they may have accomplished that goal.

Corey Dickerson was the big acquisition coming over from the Colorado Rockies. There were some concerns there may have been a bit of the thin-air effect boosting his power numbers. He squashed some of those concerns posting a slash line of .263/.300/.789 with three home runs, one being this moon shot.

Unfortunately the three home runs have been with no one on base.

Steven Souza Jr. has also added to this power surge making some Rays fans giddy as his performance this week was what they were expecting after he was acquired. With his three home runs, two in one game, he added an impressive .381/.409/.857 slash line. More importantly, they have come in big situations as this three-run shot put gave them a come from behind victory.
