2. I honestly do not know if catchers have gotten better or runners have gotten slower, but this seasons current CS percent of 31.7 percent would be the highest mark since 2002. Stolen bases have decreased from 0.67/G in 2011 to 0.51/G this season. The reason for this decline is not clear, but there are not as many dynamic base runners this season. Billy Hamilton would be that dynamic guy, but its hard to steal bases when you are rarely on base. Whether or not this trend will continue throughout the rest of the season remains to be seen.
