Cleveland Indians

Record: 4-3

Weekly Recap:

The Indians had another mixed week. They were able to take three out of four at U.S. Cellular Field against the White Sox. After the series, they looked to come home and hold house. Instead they dropped two out of three to the Baltimore Orioles. Their bullpen looked suspect at best during the series and that is a huge concern for them moving forward.

Stud of the Week: Mike Napoli

After a miserable slump the previous week, Napoli battled back as he swatted a .316/.409/.737 batting line and also cracked three home runs and nine RBIs for the week. He’s going to be streaky at times and can frustrate with a high strikeout rate but pitchers are going to make mistakes against him and when they do, he will make them pay with that raw power of his. That’s exactly what he did this week.

Dud of the Week: Jason Kipnis

The veteran second baseman slumped this week. There’s no question about it as he only hit .211/.250/.368 with six strikeouts. When he’s hot, he is as dangerous as they come. When he’s not, he’s just another guy hacking at the plate. He should come out of his slump soon enough. If not, the Indians are in trouble as he needs to be one of their most productive hitters in the lineup.
