Minnesota Twins

Record: 4-2

Weekly Recap:

The Twins may finally be waking up. After dropping two of three to the Royals, they went to Safeco Field to take on the Seattle Mariners and swept the series by riding some hot bats. They actually won four straight games to finish the week. It seems unlikely they’ll be able to dig themselves out of the hole they’re in but they are showing signs of life at this point.

Stud of the Week: Miguel Sano

What a week it was for Sano. It seemed pitchers just forgot what he can do to baseballs when he gets his barrel on the ball. Sano reminded everyone as he slugged a .316/.435/.947 line on the week as well as hammering four dingers and seven RBIs. He’s still striking out at an alarming rate but that’s what guys like him do: swing hard and strike out a lot but when he connects, everyone knows it.

Dud of the Week: Byung-ho Park

While Sano was pounding the ball, his partner in crime was doing anything but that. He managed a .133/.235/.133 line for the week and failed to record any extra-base hits. He needs to be hitting when Sano is hot because if both of them are hot at the same time, the Twins offense is extremely dangerous. He is still a rookie in the MLB so pitchers are learning how to pitch to him. He just needs to adjust to them learning how to pitch to him.
