The Boston Red Sox are signing first baseman Cody Decker to a minor-league deal, league sources said.
Boston worked out Decker recently, as well as Casey Janssen, according to Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe. There is no word yet on if the Red Sox plan to sign Janssen.
Decker, 29, has played eight seasons of minor-league baseball, going .264 with 159 home runs and 513 RBI.
In his last full season in Triple-A with the San Diego Padres, Decker hit .252 with 21 home runs and 75 RBI.
