5. Remember Giancarlo Stanton? Yeah, he was always a must-see AB because of his enormous power that. Not anymore. His ABs are now hard to watch because of how bad he looks at the plate. He is completely lost. He is having a historically awful season at the plate. To put it in its simplest form, Stanton cannot make contact. Let’s just say that making contact is kind of important for a hitter. His current contact rate sits at 62.2 percent, which would be the third worst mark in a season in baseball history. His SO/AB is 2.56 (!) this season. Only five other players since 1901 have had a worse SO/AB in a season. It is unfortunate that Stanton is broken because when he does make contact the ball goes really far. If you are a baseball fan, you have to hope that Stanton fixes his issues and starts mashing again.
